Why Choose The This Latest Version Reactor 2: Idle Nuclear Tycoon

Run an evolving energy economy in Reactor 2, an offline idle nuclear tycoon and power grid simulation where every tile matters. Build production chains, balance heat and cooling, and turn a small renewable network into a futuristic energy empire.

Your grid supplies a living city. As districts grow, demand rises—and every expansion creates a new strategy, management, and layout challenge.

BUILD A SMARTER POWER NETWORK
Arrange power sources, nuclear reactors, generators, and heat sinks into a factory-style production chain. Rearrange buildings as demand grows, remove bottlenecks, and turn every tile into part of a stronger grid.

This combines the satisfying optimization of a factory tycoon with the systems thinking of an energy simulation.

• Produce heat with multiple power sources
• Convert heat into electricity
• Cool overheated buildings before production stalls
• Balance output, cooling, space, and cost

SOLVE THE HEAT AND LAYOUT PUZZLE
Heat is both your resource and your main obstacle. Think through each placement, follow the flow of production across the map, and redesign the grid when a bottleneck appears. Overheated reactors pause and cool down instead of exploding, giving you room to test new layouts and improve efficiency.

MANAGE AN IDLE ENERGY ECONOMY
Earn while you are away, then reinvest your income in buildings, research, and expansion. Compare costs, plan payback times, and decide whether the next upgrade should improve production, cooling, or city growth. The economy keeps moving offline, but smart management determines how quickly it develops.

EVOLVE THROUGH ENERGY ERAS
Begin with wind, solar, hydro, and tidal power. Develop coal, gas, and nuclear technology, then advance to fusion, antimatter, arc, and black hole reactors. Each technological era introduces new buildings, production demands, cooling problems, and economic decisions—not only larger numbers.

GROW A LIVING CITY
City-building progression is driven by the electricity you deliver. Watch districts expand as output rises, meet growing demand, and keep the city supplied through every upgrade. Expand across unique islands, restore their power networks, and adapt each layout to the space available.

QUESTS, CHAPTERS, AND EXPLORATION
Follow chapter-based goals from your first turbine to late-game technology. Complete quests, earn rewards, unlock research, and explore new islands. Clear objectives guide the journey while leaving room to develop your own strategy.

BUILT FOR IDLE AND ACTIVE PLAY
• Play in short sessions or spend time perfecting every layout
• Move buildings when your production strategy changes
• Collect offline income and invest it in the next stage
• Progress from accessible beginnings to deeper resource management
• Play without forced ad breaks interrupting your grid
• Get regular updates from a small indie team that listens to player feedback
• Enjoy refined pixel art from a small indie studio

THE SEQUEL TO REACTOR
Reactor 2 expands the original formula with a living city, island progression, deeper quests, more research, and new late-game technology.

If you enjoy economic strategy, logic puzzles, city-building progression, factory-style production chains, resource management, or nuclear power plant simulators, Reactor 2 gives you another system to improve at every stage.

Build the grid. Master the heat. Power the city.
Build power plants, solve heat puzzles, grow your city, and earn income offline.

I was really starting to enjoy this as I settled into the few-times-per-day pattern, but a new update was just released that ended up wiping most of my generators and gas plants, reverting my progress by several days, and now the squares on my islands keep eating my money when I try to build and don't actually build anything. What the heck happened? Edit: very quick work from the dev to fix the problem, and the game really is enjoyable, so bumping this to 4 stars.

I’m very sorry! The bug has been fixed, and your buildings will be restored after updating and restarting the game. Please use the gift code POWERRESTORED for 500 Coins and x5 Rush Hour for 1 hour. If everything works now, please consider changing your rating. Thank you!

This is by far the best monetarily manager game I've seen for mobile as you don't need to buy anything and the ads are for your benefit and limited. Better yet, if you do want to buy something the prices aren't ludicrous like other games, 2 dollars for a bonus pack is nothing. The game is what idle games should have been and honestly I'm happy with it. The only thing that could be called a con is the wait time for upgrades and obstacle clearing as it ramps up fast in cost and time.

pretty okay idle game, but there's no variance in the progression. each new tier is just the same logistics as the previous one, with bigger numbers. all building techs upgrade in the same ratios, and aside from picking the order to upgrade your techs nothing you do really matters
